Ohio Capital Journal reported that Democratic candidate John J. Kulewicz claimed victory in the race for Ohio attorney general after Republican Keith Faber offered a concession. Unofficial results show Kulewicz leading with 2,285,117 votes, or 50.31 percent, compared to Faber's 2,256,710 votes, or 49.69 percent, with all precincts reporting and 102,148 provisional ballots remaining outstanding.
Both candidates previously campaigned on enforcing state laws regarding elder abuse, human trafficking, cybercrime, and the FirstEnergy House Bill 6 trial. Faber served as state auditor and in the legislature, while Kulewicz has practiced law for 40 years and serves on Upper Arlington City Council. The previous officeholder, Republican Dave Yost, resigned in June.
